What is Naturopathy and Naturopathic Nutrition?

  • Naturopathy

Naturopathic medicine is the practice of assessing the causes of disease and providing therapeutic protocols to address root causes rather than just symptoms, and identifying ways to help prevent illness.

The guiding principles of Naturopathy are the following:

    • Work with the healing power of nature by trusting the body’s inherent powers of recovery

    • Identify the root cause

    • First do no harm

    • Support the whole person

    • Therapist as teacher

    • Prevention by encouraging the promotion of health

  • Naturopathic Nutrition

Naturopathic Nutrition is the practice of nutrition within the context of naturopathic medicine.

It considers using whole and organic foods as medicine and recognizes that each individual is unique, so will have a single interaction with nutrients, and that the foods that we eat can lead to healing.

Therefore, the practice of Naturopathic Nutrition may include appropriate recommendations and advice on:

    • Individually assessed dietary therapy

    • Optimal food preparation

    • Traditional approaches to detoxification

    • Lifestyle recommendations to optimise dietary therapy

    • Full and clear information that empowers and encourages each individual to achieve optimal health and well-being

Bach Flower Remedies

Bach Flower Remedies are a form of complementary therapy developed in the 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach. These are based on the concept that emotional imbalances and negative mental states can contribute to physical illness. The remedies are made from dilutions of flower extracts and are believed to gently restore the balance between mind and body by addressing negative emotions.

During a Bach Flower Remedies appointment, the practitioner will conduct a holistic assessment of the client's emotional state and overall well-being, by discussing the client's current emotional challenges, stressors and goals for emotional balance, in order to select specific Bach Flower Remedies that correspond to the client's emotional needs. Each remedy is chosen to address a specific emotional state, such as fear, uncertainty or despair.

The goal of a Bach Flower Remedies appointment is to provide clients with natural, gentle support for emotional balance and inner harmony.

Reiki Healing

Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei, which means “universal life”, and ki, which means “energy”. Therefore, it is an energy healing technique that involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner's hands to the recipient, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Reiki is non-invasive, does not involve physical manipulation of the body and it is beneficial to a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, pain management, and more. Furthermore, it promotes deep relaxation, which can help to reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance overall well-being, as well as supports body’s natural healing processes.
